i dont even read the title i just mindlessly click a thread

because you posted in it before
after spending a while on the forum you get used to clicking on topics with a and a
at least, if you know what they mean. if you aren't aware of what those icons mean then you might not do that, I'm not sure if it's reasonable for that to happen subconsciously
but I do it all the time. I constantly click on threads with those two icons even though I realize immediately afterwards that it's one of the many topics I'm not really interested in, but posted something in it before anyway
(fyi: the yellow folders mean you've posted in it. the new icon means that new posts have been made since the last time you opened the thread but that should be obvious)

The issue described in badspots's first post seems to be a lot more prominent with weeaboos than furries nowadays, using their avatars and reaction gifs for sole purpose of getting reaction out of people who don't approve of their interests.

I don't think it's really fair to say that about avatars
I mean, maybe some people? like satan from wreck-it-ralph, that avatar with the big boobs was certainly for that purpose
but I picked my avatar because I think it's cute and that's the end of it. that's how I choose pretty much all my avatars. cus I think they're cute. other people may have different reasons like it's their favorite character or something, but I just don't think it's fair to say that every anime avatar was chosen solely to get a reaction
