i feel the same way about my brothers mosin nagant. I really want him to keep it in stock form instead of modifying it.

dunno what a kar 98 is, but I doubt anyone who was painting old guns would be willing to put the effort into maintaining one, assuming they even bought a real or well-kept one in the first place
