if you find some non-murderous use for them, that's a different story. recreational shooting, at a range or something, or hunting for food, stuff like that is fine as far as I'm concerned
but none of those things call for respect of the weapons. not in the way you guys think they should be respected, anyway
It should be respected as someone's property, similar to a car or house. Not to mention that the gun this argument stemmed from was an antique relic from a pretty important period of history.
at least two people specifically said that they deserve respect because they were used to kill people. that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in my entire life

and yes. if it is someone else's property it should be respected as their property. but I imagine that gun was the property of whoever painted it. if not, that's a different issue entirely
