| Is server hosting safe? |

If I host a server, and someone joins, are they on my network using bandwidth? I don't want to get a call form my ISP because I like to host mini empires, and I want to make sure my network doesn't crash should the server be attacked. |
| Matthew Padilla:
If the server is attacked you should just shut it off and not host anymore, it won't crash your network unless you have a really bad network or if it is a really good attack. I doubt anyone would waste their time attacking a persons network over a sandbox game. As for bandwidth, you are sending all the info to the clients so I guess it could use a significant amount over time but nothing you should be worrying about. |

do you have a limited amount of bandwidth? as long as you haven't done anything stupid opening up your computer to attacks giving out your ip will not affect you, but you may run out of bandwidth if your server is using up more than you are paying for |

Is the server on my PC or on an externam machine? |
