You will be using the Quen sign during almost every fight in the whole game. Get used to it. It makes you invincible while it is active (it's a shield) and slowly goes away so you must recast it again once it's gone or risk taking massive damage, that of which you cannot correctly heal during battle. Also, if you get hit once, it goes away. So you will literally be recasting the thing every other second.

don't make the same mistake I made and not use it until you already have like 12 hours of gameplay put into it
