I had spoke to him a while back and asked the same question.
He uses rtb.
edit: As many have said, rtb is for simplicity but Kalphhost is for complexity, as the benefit is more power.
Subpixel:
RTB seems a lot more professional than Kaphost.
But kalphiter's autosaver is awesome.
