Are next gen consoles HDMI only?

Ive been wondering about this, and heard a few sources say it was, but were not very reliable. Is this true? Because I dont have an HD TV and would still like to use my current one.

Actually I think it's the other way around, too lazy to actually confirm it though but I swear I read that somewhere.

I don't see how you people plan on having next-gen consoles if you can't even manage to get a TV with HDMI support.
