Author Topic: Why we should have the old Blockland back.  (Read 10781 times)

I can't run shaders & shadows but I don't really care. If it means someone else can improve their building and make an awesome spectacle with it, that's fine by me.

My building skills have remained the same even before the update.

What if Badspot got rid of the default torque maps, so he could make his own superior implementation.

I guess I like this one better. Ive built more cool things and have been more creative with Slate. But again, to each his own.
wow... that is exactly what i was going to say

mind = blown

Blockland was much more buggy for me before V21, so I gained a lot from the update.

in my eyes, badspot got rid of maps that 99% of the community loved, to add in shaders that 1% of the community can run.

scrubs will be scrubs.

Sure, I do miss terrains and interior, but it's time to move forward.

I miss the maps too R.I.P. Bedroom but I'm over it so stop living in the past.

Me too! I also felt the same way after the v12 update. I guess that's what happens when you practice doing something.
you know exactly what he was getting at. instead of being lazy and using maps he now builds to get things done and has gotten a lot better at the games core mechanic.
maps were never a core mechanic and its clear the devs don't really want them back. if they're brought back in a new format, then thats fine, but the games focus should still be on building, not exploring maps or building 5 brick things on maps and then pretending its awesome.

i sure do miss the old maps.
those are the only things i miss.
everything else is awesome and better than before.

i don't see what's the big deal about building instead of maps? if you're having fun playing on either, what's the big deal? Is there something bad about having fun even if you only place 5 bricks? it just sounds like builders are getting a bit whiny that people aren't playing the game the way they "should".

But I don't want to have to build it. Especially when I have no motivation to build.

I think he just likes maps better than the new features. Some people like the new features better than maps. I don't get what's so wrong about him liking the older versions more, even if it's for a reason like maps. What "new features" did it bring, shadows? Maybe he can't run them, I think that's a perfectly fine reason to like the older version more.
It is fine to have an opinion and think that the older versions are better.  However, it is not fine to whine about how the new versions suck, petition to get the old versions back, ect.

There's already been 203920 of these stupid-ass threads and all they do is spam up General Discussion.  We get it, you're unhappy with the new version... Suck it up, get used to the new version, and stop making threads about it.  Maps are not coming back, it would be impossible to bring maps back.  They were removed to make progress and that's that, like it or not.
