megathreads are all handicapped. i purposely make new topics when i want because forget you. megathreads have become a fad, and everyone wants to start his own popular megathread. its just silly and unhelpful now. people cant even get the help/discussion they want from the main topics because everyone is spamming a bunch of off topic nonsense in them anyways. |

i like them they're a useful catch-all for any conversation that doesn't warrant it's own topic and isn't the main topic of the forum, so if i want to participate in the conversation i can just go to the megathread instead of clogging up the board with a bunch of topics nobody wants to talk about but yeah people are going out of their way to start them for the sake of starting them like that guy in gallery who made the video megathread |

Go get yourself a cookie. Its not like anyone would want to create a megathread solely on the purpose that they can discuss things that they're enthusiastic about with other people. What idiots those people are. Now to get serious, There are other reasons than "Oh i want to be the OP in a successful 100 page megathread". For example, if i wanted to make a megathread it would most likely be because of the responsibility. Its like running your own restaurant. If you don't update the menu once in a while it will get stale and no one will come visit. Its also very fun to see it grow. This reason also falls into the category of people who want to start a megathread that they will keep updating and adding new stuff to such as a playerlist or even an event billboard, unlike some other people who basically abandon theirs once it reaches over 100 or 200 pages. |
