So far i'm not really like Debian. Pacha said this would be better, but it really isn't right now. If push comes to shove then I still have my Arch CD

Also why won't sudo work? Debian says the command is not found.

;-;

It tells you what to do...
Code: [Select]
Type dpkg-deb --help for help about manipulating *.deb files;Are you blind or just completely clueless?

su -c 'commands-go-here'

thread: people fighting over which OS is better when this thread is about lunix and both OSs are different

You can install sudo as a package, if I remember correctly. Though it's usually easier to just do "su" in the terminal, so all future actions in that terminal are done as root.

This is so confusing, ;-;

Yes, typing a command that gives me even more commands even though I have no single loving idea what i'm doing is more helpful.

Aghhh, i'm probably gonna install Arch now.

EDIT: I would install Ubuntu, but it's broken like 2 times already with wubi, so I don't have real high hopes for the third try.

Wubi is bad.

I don't know much about Linux...so I'm gonna wait for someone more experienced with Linux comes in and can tell you what to do next.

Also why do you keep wanting to use arch? Isn't it considered one of the more difficult Linux distros to use?

Wubi is bad.

Yeah i've been over this a million loving times already :/

Try Fedora with XFCE, the package manager is stuff, but it's less buggy than Ubuntu by far.

Yes, but for some reason he doesn't seem to understand that.

Arch doesn't even use .debs, PurpleMetro. Keep that in mind.

:I

Where can I install Ubuntu without Wubi?

The same way that you installed Debian

download the steam.deb

then you do sudo dpkg -i /location of file/steam.deb

Ubuntu after 12.04 doesn't fit on CDs
