Because maybe it gets very annoying having to tell people all the time the simple fact that maps won't come back, no matter how many times they post about about wanting maps back?

If they talk about maps in a way that doesn't say "we need them back" that's fine, have nostalgia for all we care, but if it's a post like "why did badspot delete maps who votes we have them back let's start a partition!" won't get you anywhere.

The way i see things, person whines about wanting terrains and interiors back, topic floods with responses because they feel so impulsed to respond negatively (or at all), OP gets fed with the attention they crave, someone makes a topic saying to stop making topics about wanting maps back, whiny topic dies down, other topic dies down after some chit-chat, cycle begins again at a later time

Either no more topics about wanting maps back, or force people to stop responding to such topics

With these topics coming along every now and then, no one is happy because they're so sick of the easily ignored topics, so the same things will just keep happening and happening until something is changed

I think being banned is a little too far. A lot of people just simply don't know. However I think the topics should be locked by a moderator.

The auto updater prevents that.

I don't think there should be a rule against it, they have the right to express how they feel about loosing maps, they just need time to realize they aren't coming back as of now, it'll probably never come back but one can hope.

This is true, but shaders did not turn out as good as I expected... Some of the pictures from the update topic were epic, but then when the update came, um... eh... it did not look like that.

I'd like maps back but I know it pissed people off to complain. I also don't want them back enough to go ahead and make a topic about it. I would personally feel that blockland would be better (For me) with shaders and maps

Maybe if the moderators actually took time to look at the posts, they would just lock them. Send a warning to the OP, or beside the Blockland Forums logo put (MAPS AREN'T COMING BACK)
Something with shiny colors and lights so people would have to be blind not to see it, you know?

These topics can be annoying, but they aren't gonna stop.
And while we're at it, I push my breakthrough idea:
When starting a server, you can choose maps/shaders, and shaders are automatically disabled on player connection to a map-based server.

I know asking for maps is annoying, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't love skiing on a mountain I didn't have too build.:)

players should be informed maps are in the past and wont arise from the ashes any time soon

with that in mind, yeah handing out bans is a bit unnecessary, but will keep the spam away
