Valve has released games before, and while I don't keep up with them, they aren't ones to spew dates at us. They just kinda release the games as they go.
The DayZ devs have a successful mod that they don't even work on anymore. They should be more sure before they get us excited for the release. Frankly, I'm sick of it.

I've been waiting for this thing since last November. Now I'm starting to wonder again if I should just go ahead and buy ArmA II or keep on waiting for this.

I'd say wait for this
the mod isn't that good, the most you'll be doing is running for hours across the giant map and dying to other players
