Author Topic: I'm not sure if I should reupgrade to windows 8.  (Read 2397 times)

I've had windows 7 for the past 3 months and when I was downgrading to windows 8 I had to disable a feature named secureboot which boots all other hardware before windows 8.
So I used the upgrade assistant and got that some devices were uncompatible, but pacha told me the games that it listed as uncompatible was wrong.
I looked at some other stuff and found this in the compatibility list:
Pacha told me he was having hardware problems with windows 8, but I'm not completely sure if I should reupgrade to the OS.
Secure boot is what i disabled in order to install windows 7 correctly
Also, this is a pretty big decision considering I almost forgeted up my computer when I downgraded to windows 7.

don't upgrade. I hate windows 8. Ive had to for 7 months. It sucks.

"because my opinions are always right"

It's your own choice, try to balance the goods and the bads of reupgrading to Windows 8

Windows 8 gives up capability of application software for speed.
I'd rather have it be slower than almost useless.

wtf are you talking about? Windows 8 works with everything windows 7 does

My game performance has gone down alot. If you want to game don't buy it.

Ive had no problems gaming but I just hate windows 8 so much.
Ive been using it for a while and although it may look cooler, I find it very confusing and filled with unnecessary features and applications.

Windows 8 is awesome in my opinion.
It has a huge load of programs on it, still works good.

That might just be your Graphics card.

I had better game performance before. I also had an article that proved that game performance drops in windows 8. I have to look for it.

I like Windows 8. It's easier to find applications and stuff, and if you arent a fan of the social features you can just turn them off.

I see same performance with the margin of error for video game benchmarks.

The games I play run slower, such as borderlands 2 and minecraft. Also, I have an Intel HD 3000 performance is even worse.

EDIT: I also lost my Pokki. One file didn't download so it forgeted it all up.

pretty sure your GPU is the problem here.

If you would have read the article, instead of hiding behind your bias, you would have noticed it covered Borderlands 2.

Still within the margin of error for video game benchmarks. They run the game the exact same.
Minecraft is a train-wreck in terms of optimization and should never be used to benchmark anything.
