White screen on new minecraft launcher?

Hello,
when I try to launch the new minecraft (1.6), I get a white screen.
As soon as I launch the game, I get a white screen, and I can't do anything.
I am opening the launcher with OpenJDK Java 7 Runtime.
Should I use the old launcher to force update to get rid of the mods I have?
My OS is Linux Mint 13 Maya Cinnamon. Don't tell me to run on windows because minecraft is made for linux too.
