why are most big projects usually passworded?

You can still do this when the game is public

The only reason I have is so the players see a finished build and not something wip. I normally host my server on some projects.

I've been passwording my Tank Deathrace, because I like my privacy while building. I can always hand the password to my friends for some help, though.

Honestly, I think it's more professional to not work in public. If I want to build a little house or some stuff I have my server official but if I work on some bigger stuff I rather just be alone with my thoughts. I also don't like showing off wip stuff as it may just water out the awesomeness. :p I want to show of my builds with a big bang. Maybe I could post some sneakypeaks but the build will be shown to public when it's done. Don't want people running around, especially not hostile ones.

That's just my opinion.
