We'll wait and see once the game comes out again. Don't wanna jump the gun on saying it's the best first person shooter out there yet.

Is it bad that I would like to see a GTA game that you fight crime working for the police as an officer or detective? I think it could be a really cool change of pace of a game
It also could actually have two characters that have different storylines, but instead of working together they want to kill each other, one the good guy and the bad guy, and at the end you decide which one to kill with the character you like the most

Technically speaking, there were optional missions in GTA IV that involved you having to killed/beat up criminals by listening to a police scanner in a police car.
It's not really what you're talking about, but at least there are points where what you're doing is some what on the other side of the law.
Also, there's a mod for GTA IV that allows you to play as the police, and it's pretty detailed.

i could see a game like that being made, similar to GTA V where you can select the two whenever you want
