doom doesn't have as many guns or enemies, no online multiplayer, lame sound design, and bland skyboxes- but it can't help it. it was made decades ago, of course it's not going to be as good as stuff now because of progress!
i love doom for what it is- a groundbreaker. but i don't want to own a model T either- no air conditioning or radio

This is what I've noticed with past shooters compared to today
Doom/half life: You have to run around and flank the enemy so you don't get shot
Halo CE/2: You jump around like you are on the moon to avoid projectiles
Cod/most modern shooters: You sit in a corner like a loving pusillanimous individual waiting for your slow as stuff health to recharge.

this might be your tactic in cod but it sure as stuff isnt mine or most other players lol

every enemy in a modern shooter is the same
online multiplayer has been possible in Doom for decades with source ports and stuff
