actual fact: so much stuff is taken and reposted from tumblr that 100% of people who despise tumblr without giving it a proper chance have laughed at like at least 4 stuffs that originated from tumblr

i was doing a group project at school and some friend said "do you know when the narwhal bacons?" i didnt even know what he meant at all and thought he was like autistic or something so i treated him like a handicap the rest of class

that would require such things to exist
more important is the simple fact that tumblr as a website is TERRIBLY made making it incredibly difficult to accomplish anything (eg. finding people/posts, making things look decent without oodles of tweaking, etc)

The only time I've ever gone on tumblr was for looking up fan art or gifs of stuff I enjoy.
