Author Topic: Making a couple improvements to the client. (obviously an alpha version)  (Read 4818 times)

It was failed?
What was wrong with it?
it failed as in it wasn't good

Added the move up and down buttons and uploaded a second version.
Once I add a few more things, and test them, I'll post it in add-ons.

edit: just realized this won't copy or move brick targets

The Events GUI Plus already has up and down buttons(with better UI too).

Yes, but this add-on would not be compatable with it, so rather than make users choose, I might as well emulate all of it's features as well, if possible. I hope to fix the up and down buttons to look better later, but since I haven't released it yet, that's not a major concern currently.

If there's any other featuers you've always wanted to see on the eventing gui, let me know. I'll add them now. And before you ask, I'm also going to add an event saving system like in Chrono's gui.

Hm.
Make it so that your event saver doesn't break with the setEventEnabled event's bool, please.

Also, a rather ambitious feature but completely possible: Dragging + dropping of events would be neat.
A better color selector would also be nice.
How about the ability to load snippets of events into the dialog, instead of replacing them it just adds them to the end (or in between events)
On the same note, being able to copy sections of events and paste them other places (even into another brick) would be very useful.

That it does, but I think this guy will actually update it. Lol.

How so?

The events gui plus saving/loading gui was actually pretty ugly, you can barly see the event save names over the rest of the gui. I just looked it up on RTB.

How so?
as the current color selector gets to the bottom of the event GUI, it gets smaller and smaller, to the point where it's nearly impossible to select colors without adding more events so you can scroll down, putting the color selector higher on the page so it can extend more.

if you could make it extend upwards if it didn't fit, like other event lists do, instead of just shrinking and adding a scroll bar, that would be marvelous.

it would also be great if you could drag and drop the events inbetween others instead of using the up and down arrows, but i know that would be really hacky and difficult, so is it possible that you could make it so that you can create a new line inbetween two others?

This used to be included with the Advanced Events GUI, but that kinda broke a bit.
I kinda wanted this to be stand-alone anyway, so thanks.

Dude, don't be a grammar national socialist. Or you'll have a lot of work cut out for you on these forums.

I've been here longer than you. I don't need your 'advice'.

Not pictured. I'll get a new picture once the save/load events part is done.
