Should the Riot Shield have limited blocking power? (*Health, or a damage limit)

Yes, but make separate versions.

how about you make it not able to block door ways, like black ops 2?
I thought that function was neat. Placing down the Riot Shield to keep people out was a good feature. However, because the Riot Shield cannot die, it could be a little overpowered.

Im bug testing right now.

This thing has quite the bugs... Really great.

Can you not only make a version that has health, but a version that deflects?

So:

1: Regular
2: Regular Deflective
3: Regular Health
4: Health + Deflective

Also, ty so much for making this :D

I'm not supporting the reflecting shield idea when this exists.

that's kind of weird logic considering that thing only works 2% of the time

That's news to me, It worked fine last time I checked.
The deflector could be broken?

I don't know, loading up one item with that many features seems broken to me.
-Can reflect
-Blocks damage from the front
-Can be planted
-Blocks damage from behind when not equipped

I'm not trying to balance it around ALL add-ons, but I do need to approach this cautiously.

what are you going on about, it works perfectly

I don't like cop outs for features either.
I'm not trying to shoot down your idea because of laziness.

I genuinely believe in a balanced riot shield. And right now, its pretty balanced. (Aside from the bugs)
I will be addressing the issue with it being able to block forever.

A version with HP WILL be released.

You should make the round riot police shield.

I personally stand with Pandan on this matter.
I love the idea of this riot shield that you can plant and i like the idea of it having a damage limit.
But having it deflect is not really what i would see as balanced in most cases.
They are already annoying enough to some other people. ;)

If you could explain how you would want it, It could be considered.
I don't really understand how it could be designed to not be able to block doorways.

Do you mean the ground-planted shield?
in black ops 2 you can plant down the shield like this one, but you cant put it in doorways so that people cant get through

when you are in the planting animation, the shield is yellow when it can be placed, and it becomes red and cant be placed when it is an obstruction and blocks paths.

probably cant be done, but it would be a cool feature.

What if I made a brick that didn't allow shields to be placed on it?
And builders could make their own choice of putting them in doorways?

Maybe a 1x4 plate?

Currently the Riot shield can be uprooted by anyone with a simple left click, so door blocking isn't 100% overpowered.

Interestingly enough, the bug stated in the OP, the explosion damage being blocked, is caused by a part of code that is specifically designed to do so.
