Maybe Portal and Portal 2 are really Half-Life 4 and 5, and HL3 is about Gordon Freeman going to Aperture Science after Black Mesa was destroyed and then he's Ratman?

Well his status was pending at the end of Opposing Force. Perhaps GMan is keeping him locked away until incase he looses control of Freeman.

that would be a possibility, only portals 1 and 2 focus on chell and not ratman so they can't be hl4 and 5

I thought Portal 1 and HL2 take place simultaneously, while Portal 2 takes place "99999999999999999999999999999 99999999999999999999999999999 999999999999999-bzzzzzt" days later
