Most likely.
Either it has a backdoor, some virus, breaks stuff, doesn't work, or is just really low in quality, it can still get failbinned.
I don't think badspot will ban him for this, he probably didn't know, Badspot will most likely just remove the link and give him a warning.

I find his accusations that the addon is failed suspicious. He just barges in and says its failed, and doesn't explain why its failed. I remember when that addon first came out, nobody banned it/failed it.

I didn't explain why because I don't know why!
All I know is that when the add-on is loaded, the console says, "on the list of bad add-ons - can not execute".

I did find the original post for the add-on, however, like you said, the link is gone.
But, nothing in the topic infers that the add-on was failed.

I was able to get around the whole "CRC" thing.
I tested the add-on, and it works fine, but it is a really bad add-on.

So my only guess is that it was failed because it's really bad.
