--- Quote from: hammereditor² on September 03, 2013, 03:59:10 PM --- Yes. I tested the new VPS with 4 players on my Arms Race server, and average CPU usage for that process was 2.1%. I think, for the average server, you can hold about 45-50 players before any lag starts. And the ping just decreased by more than 60%, after the new U.S. location. I estimate that the new CPU has about twice as much power per-core, and 8 times as much CPU power, in total, over all 4 cores. On the other hand, Let's please not make this topic a drama topic. This is supposed to be about HamHost, not some Ephialtes/Pacnet/Hammereditor/nerraD/Kalphiter argument. --- End quote --- The problem is, the server contains ~50k bricks. How much ping do you think it could get? (estimation please) |

(If the text you're posting involves your Blockland key, please replace it with X's. --- End quote --- Does it have to be typed in or can it be pasted also when i use the command it goes into red letters for being to long i dont think eval is supposed to do that |

(estimation please) --- End quote --- All Blockland servers will have the same ping, no matter how many players or bricks are on them. That's how the internet works. From my location in New Jersey, I average about 75 ms. It does not scale linearly, though. For example, if you live in California, you'll probably get about 115 ms. I think you could hold about 35 players with that many bricks, if it was a DM/TDM. If it was something less CPU-intensive, like a city RPG or a freebuild, I'd expect 53 players. I really don't think your friend will have to worry. Premium servers also get a higher CPU priority than free servers. |

There is only a syntax error if the whole line of text goes red. |

I'm very happy that you gave such a straight-forward reply within a jiffy! The server would be hosted in Montana or Minnesota (that's where my friend lives). I forgot which state. |
