honestly, this game is worth it. its not a game you can permanently quit, and the demo is extensive enough to give you a taste of exactly what you are buying. if you don't like it, then don't spend it. but if you do, spending the $20 will probably be one of the best game investments in your life.
i wouldn't cheapen the game just so people buy it and then play it for a month and then disappear. $6 seems unreasonable; $12 at the very least. the replay value of this thing is enormous.

I agree that the game was worth it. But if I were a new player and I knew what the game was like back then and I saw what it was like now, I probably wouldn't spend twenty dollars for a game that's currently in a state of crCIA. However, I agree with the part you said about the investment of the game. The game can always change for good or worse - so it's not like we're losing anything by waiting for the game to improve. The game may be uninteresting now, but it could always pick back up and be the great game I used to know.
I remember Badspot telling Yola it was because he was growing up that he began to dislike the game, but I really don't feel like that's the case. Many of us are growing up and leaving for school and such while the younger generations begin to play, so that could very well be the case. Maybe in a few years when most of this current generation begins to grow older, the game will become more like I was used to. Even so, I guess I'll settle for the current game for whenever I find a rare server that appeals to me. :3

that's stupid
edit: let me elaborate. how does that make any sense to you? a game's worth isn't based on its community. if it was ever worth $20, then it is always worth $20. and what makes you think it's not active?

Why's that? I believe this game's value goes by the community and its creativity. The majority of the players don't have the creativity to host servers so they usually look for ones on the server list. If there are none that are good that are on the server list, what is there to play? They can try hosting, but they might not be good at it. In my case, I try to host, but I don't have a hosting service, nor the desire to spend money to use one.
Without a wide variety of creative hosts, what is there to this game more than a freebuild?

so why should the creator get less money, if some kids can't make amazing gamemodes?

Because there's not enough content in the game to make it worthwhile for just playing with a couple friends or by yourself. The lack of host creativity is downgrading the quality of the game, therefore the game is worth less. That is only my opinion, but I believe it should be taken into consideration.
Edit:
Think of this game as if it were an economy: The more effort the community puts into building it, the more that it will grow and prosper, bringing the value of the game up in the process.
