Right, so how do I change the settings? It said on the changes log text file that you could adjust water and waves and such, but I don't see any way to do that.

go to the little menu in the top left and click "Options" then show menu.

adfly breaks when you have adblock plus (go figure lol). unpause ABP or allow it in the whitelist.
