Bought it but didn't beat the average. There's no way I'm downloading Origin (but I'll admit this is a great thing for EA to do and actually pretty kind of them even if they are just trying to get more people using origin)

Youll get an origin key for every game and a steam key as well for certain games. So for some games you will receive two keys - Yes you can put them on both, or give one out to a friend or family member.

Nope, I've got Mirror's Edge already downloaded on Steam (I've had it for a while) and it doesn't require me to use Origin or anything.
