that actually sort of doesn't apply here, because a majority of linux users will enjoy the experience of getting something not natively designed to work for them. sadistic but true.

Yeah, that is true in a lot of cases. Hacky is fun.

Some people prefer a linux distro over windows, this seems to be rather relevant with programmers. And, also some people just plain can't afford windows.
