I'm getting a new computer soon and I was wondering if hosting dedicated from my laptop instead of my new desktop would noticeably lessen the resource usage. Say, if I was browsing the internet and listening to iTunes in the background, would it slow down the server if I hosted on the desktop? Planned specs for new desktop: A8 5600k EVGA GTX 650ti Boost 8 gig Gskill ram 7200RPM WD Blue |

If you are going for a 24/7 server just pay 15$ for rtb hosting, it saves you all the trouble and you don't have to worry about your computer effecting anyone else but you. |

That seems like a good idea, since my internet connection is shoddy at best. |

Why does everybody suggest using a hosting service? Yes, that will work just fine. |
