No, he is actually right about that. Even if you have a fast Internet connection, your server will still be laggy when hosting if you don't have enough RAM. When hosting a server, RAM is required to run the program to do the hosting, which requires RAM. But for Blockland, the most you'd probably ever need for anything would be 8 gigs (and even that's probably a bit much).
