Honestly I suspected something like this to happen because of the Greenlight thing.

Why the determination? Nobody knows, but I guess they just want their richards hard because they've been banned from a single internet forum about an indie game. Welcome to Blockland.

If he's too stupid to find out the ip himself then I doubt he knows how to launch a DoS attack

It's not a hard thing to do, anyone can do it by Googling it, not to mention there's programs made for this that can be downloaded for free. It's a way for powerless social outcasts to 'gain' power.
