The loyalist Syrian army might have a chance if they learned to coordinate their infantry and tank attacks better. So far they just have their tanks drive down the streets which exposes them to Anti Tank and Recoilless rifle teams. However like Tingalz said either you get an oppressive dictatorship like the Baathist regime in Iraq, or you get a crazy Islamic government.

It's a brutal dictatorship vs Islamic terrorists. Whoever wins, the people lose.
which is why some country needs to intervene to bring peace to the region

I've been reading up on the chemical attack done by the Syrian Assad regime, and I find it scary how now we're at risk of going to war with them potentially. Obama should try to stay out of this and let them do what they want to their own people. It is hard for any country to police the world, especially during a civil war which Syria is going through. I have a slight feeling that we will launch some sort of missile to Syria as a way to tell them "You can't do this". I know what Syria did goes against the U.N, so there is some justification toward this. I just don't think it's worth for us to enter another war, and go down again economically and financially all over again. We have been recovering from the big recession for the past 2-3 years, and for us to revert would just be terrible.

Although I go completely against war, right now it seems as if we have to. It is against UN international law to use chemical weapons, which I do agree with. The Assad regime was dumb enough to use it and now we have no other choice, we must keep our word. European countries are preparing for this too, so we are not going to be alone.

Here is an article on all of this.

You're scared over nothing.
The US was involved with the Libya uprising, and literally nothing happened to us on the homefront.
AND, we are launching cruise missiles at Syria.
There's also been a bit of lack of information about who did the chemical attack. There are a lot of awful people and organizations on the rebel side that are there looking for a fight. Some of them are connected to Al-Qaeda, and might have done the Chemical attack as an act of terrorism.

if you are going to try "self defense" against the US, you're probably going to lose

those people weren't innocents

did you not see the mortar they were setting up?
Morter?

All I see is the HMG they were shooting at the Helicopter with.

Personally, I don't want my country to be involved.

Those countries are a lost cause. Whatever the outcome it will happen again and again.
Let them kill themselves, however horribly they do it.
