My first restart was with 103 chips, in 9 hours I had beaten my previous games all-time cookies baked 4/5 times over. Aside from getting golden cookies it's the only realistic way to progress

Don't reset with a low number of cookies because 1 chip is what, +2% increase? You probably still have upgrades which give +5% increase.

that's not worth it at all. get at least 10-20 quadrillion all time baked before your first reset. this will get you at least 100 chips.
