This mod has been blown to a scale it was never meant to reach. If I fix this, I wouldn't even be fixing it. I would be rehashing the entire code. Everything. I'm going to start assembling a team soon.


I have a few stat, experience, and damage formulas from an old (non-Blockland) RPG I tried to work on. Shall I share them? You don't need to credit me. The only potential problem is that they require armor and more weapon upgrades in order to be logical, but I'm assuming that since you're redoing the code, those will be added.

Whatever, botting, wotting, fapping or whatever, hes still cheating, its unfair advantage that he uses console commands and then uses it to collect gold while hes afk, its an obvious cheat, this shows disrespect and laziness to
the server... What doesent matter is the name, but what matters is the Fairness, and you should know that too...

i'll address grinding, but i won't limit myself to that.
grinding is annoying as is, but to base an entire gamemode around it? in common MMOs, players grind so they can fight bosses, clear dungeons, and experience the game world.
Here you grind so you can continue to grind. There's nothing interesting to really explore, there's no "hidden lore" for people who enjoy exploring. There's no bosses or anything that require teamwork. There's no endgame content that is satisfying.

The actual fighting element is really flawed, especially since enemies have "special moves" like the punch1. The combat is incredibly lame. players can literally type in two console commands and move to the center of a field to grind. There's no danger or skill involved. There's honestly no point in having lava monsters since all monsters are essentially lava (they damage you on touch, regardless of the direction they face). The ACTUAL lava monsters even spawn some explosion that heals you (maybe the damage was so far negative it became positive??).

The classes and abilities are poorly done. Why have classes if you can use any weapon after you pick it up? Having to type out "/setlightbind spell heal" is incredibly annoying, just bind the heal spell to right click and make it heal people you look at (if they are in range). In games like DoTA, misusing an ability and being stuck in cooldown can sometimes spell certain death. Here, there's no timing to using abilities and there's no downside in just mashing the light key.

The numbers are ridiculous. I shouldn't deal 10000000000000 damage, it's terrible to read and you, gamefan, even said that is causes problems that are unfixable. Well I found a fix, it's called scale your damage down. Add in a defense stat, stop using these obnoxious numbers. It's a problem because you literally spoon-feed people stats. You grind and get gold so you can buy potions that help you grind even more. You just keep adding fuel to a train that has no breaks. When you literally hand out gold and levels and stats, you get put in this kind of situation. You even said that this problem exists because
The solution to this sloppy mess would to shut it down and reset everyone. You yourself admitted that it's broken. Give yourself time to balance things out and gently scale the content up. Make the content actually fun and smooth out the stat system. Resetting it would benefit the gameplay, but of course, you can't reset it because people already donated their money to become OP, and the people who sat around killing "renderman" for days will cry about how they lost their numbers. But if you toss those things aside, put on your man suit, fix the flaws, and reset the server, it will most certainly be worth it. maybe then we can have a fun server based around fighting monsters, not idling and botting gold.

1The punch is one of the worst implementations in the game. It deals 3000 damage regardless of defense level, and it's unavoidable. Those kind of moves shouldn't be in an action-based game. You shouldn't just get damaged for no reason. I can shoot a troll who's looking the complete opposite direction and he'll "punch" me and die at the same time. In addition, it has no range limit and they can "punch" straight up a cliff.

I have to agree with Heed on everything. Although a much better map is coming, that won't fix the main problems.
The problem is the map that's coming is far too nice for a repetetive, unexciting, mod like this.

That's what happens when you have a stuffty experience curve and a party...

Seriously, having to get 40 more EXP every level is not an experience curve. At least try something logical like Level^3 to get to the next level. But, because of how the monsters are set up, it'd take forever to level up. :S

Got to level 2000 with a Gold Sword, Bow and Spear in 4 hours.

I've already started on a new mod based on the same premise as this one, nearly done as well.
