I don't understand why maps were removed

this honestly sounds like bullstuff
"maps complicate code" how is that even possible
I want to here like a real reason from badspot or kompressor

I really can't see how these somehow slowed development, I mean they were buggy, looked bad, and were outdated
but I fail to see how they slowed down developement

From what I remember the collision and rendering used for the maps were forgeted up.
Daffytitanic:
Development was slow  due to maps. When they removed them, it speeded things up.  If you want maps, download the older version and play it.
