I don't understand why maps were removed

Shaders would look a lot better with the multiple light levels. It seems that the screenshot being a DOF screenshot helped a bit to make the effect better, but it'd still look much better than the shaders we have now.

I'm not saying removing maps was a bad idea, but when people try to prove their point, they find the most ugly picture of terrain they could possibly find and compare it to exceptional shadows & shaders screenshots. Hard to take someone like that seriously if they don't look at it in a balanced way.

why did they take a DOF screenshot? they should show us what is looks like when we're actually playing, not a filtered screenshot to build up hype.

The DOF hardly affects what is being shown off
