I loved that book, did a paper on it sophomore year and the teacher yelled at me saying it was too easy of a book.

Fahrenheit 451. Maybe Utopia by Thomas More.
Read both of them, pretty good books.

By the way if you're wondering if the Shining is scary which I doubt anyone is, it's not that bad. I have been reading it and I'm at page 490 out of 659, and it's not that scary. My mom said the scariest part was Room 217, but it didn't scare me too much.

Its not insanely scary but it is a really amazing book.  The plot is very well driven and beautifully written.  Try not to read it only for the horror, but for the other key points of it too.

The former is required reading for one of my college classes, but it's been on my list of books to read for awhile.

I just finished a graphic novel named cardboard, it was kinda short but the artwork is cool
