short answer: no
long answer: probably not.

I'm wondering, if I try this, is there anyway to easily turn it on or off?

rename it if you want to turn it off

Is there no way to he able to toggle between the two shaders?

You easily can, but it takes like 5 seconds more work to do + you need a script in BL.

I'm kinda wanting to try it, just for taking screenshots. But if I can't easily switch it off, probably not going to. I have a 7770, so I'd probably get like 1 fps with bricks.

I know this question has been asked a million times, but where do I get this?

Don't know if this is the newest version, but I found this while flipping through the pages.

And how does one install it? I'm confused.

I think like this.

Either go here: https://gist.github.com/portify/6729709 (First version)
or
here: https://gist.github.com/portify/6744484 (High performance)

Make a new file called in Blockland/shaders called soft_frag.glsl and put the code into it.
Make a copy of renderCsm_vert.glsl and name it soft_vert.glsl

Open Blockland and go into a game.
Open console and type:
Code: [Select]
$Shader::ShaderName = "soft";
initializeShaderAssets();
regenerateShadowMapFBOs();
flushVBOCache();
Congrats the shaders are now working.

but the 770 is a very good video card x.x

Heh, so I tried it, and on my 50k brick island build (which I just posted a bunch of pictures in it's gallery topic) I got roughly 3  FPS on my 7770. XD
