Why do we have parties? A two party system?

Why do we identify our selves and agree on laws because some people voted on them?

Why can't we just vote on what we feel right, moral values, not parties lobbying for money?

This is 'Merica, home of the two party system that gets us no-where. Barely anyone is being educated anymore.

Because the U.S isn't actually a Democracy, we're a Republic. If we were a Democracy then we would directly vote for these things, but instead we vote for people whose jobs it is to know more about this sort of thing then we do and who do the voting for us. And this is where a Republic seems to do very badly

A republic is bad because the peoples' interests aren't directly represented, a direct democracy is bad because it takes far too long to get a national consensus vote on anything, a monarchy is bad because the person in charge is the only person who's opinion matters, socialism / communism are bad because they crush creative industry and promote corruption in the government, etc.

um funk... obamacare exists because of those companies. the ones you think republicans are trying to stop it for.

the insurance companies are the ones who lobbied to have this exist. they wrote most of it. and Obama and his crew were the shills making money on it being passed.

A lot of statistic, some which I previously posted here, state otherwise.  How in the world would they benefit from a system forcing them to act on certain policies which make them lose money?

Health insurance companies have been proven to have been lobbying AGAINST obamacare, not the opposite.  Where in the world are you getting this information?

Why don't Republicans just give it up, seriously. They have literally tried hundreds of times to repeal Obamacare, none worked, most Americans approve of Obamacare, and not only that but it is known that this will not damage the economy nor take away any jobs. It will actually lower premium costs for healthcare. The single reason why Republicans are so against this is because all they are doing is lobbying for healthcare companies! Please, give it a rest.

They furloughed 97% of their 16,000+ employees. Effectively, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration has been shutdown.

Yeah, they still have people ensuring the safety of the astronauts at the ISS and contract workers, but still, NASA is functioning rather differently than it was last week.

That's soooo not the reason democracy is stuff.

I like that the will of the masses is never law of the land. I much prefer being in a system like a republic. The only thing wrong with ours is that the constitution needs to be altered and the people in congress need to be actually be accountable for their actions.
