1965 Shelby Cobra 427.

you'd probably sit in the passenger seat while the driver kills both of you?
Something like that.

What year is your dad's Boxster?
2011.

when i turn 16 im getting a red porsche 914

porsche's are okay but I wouldn't own one. they're so feminine
Something like that.
I hate sitting in the passenger seat
I get a little worked up about how other people drive
like my grandfather waits way too long to start braking for anything and my mom's boyfriend specifically does not use turn signals
my mom's just a bad driver in general
it's the worst

For a moment I thought you meant the Porsche 918 and I was gonna say 'good luck w/ that.'

I had the opportunity to get my dad's Boxster and he would have moved up to a Carrera but I picked my Z over it. I still don't really regret it.

I don't mind if the person is a good driver. My friend with his GT-R is a god awful driver and I don't know how he hasn't gotten in a serious accident yet. I've watched him cut people off when half the car was still next to them, nearly sideswiping them off the road. I've seen him go to change the song on his phone while he's on a decreasing radius exit ramp from the highway and go across multiple lanes because he wasn't looking at the road, I had to yell at him to brake so he didn't hit a Ford Flex that we were aimed at. I've seen him run red lights without noticing until I told him afterwards because he was more focused on weaving through traffic than road conditions. Once he bike laned a prius going 3 times the speed limit right through a solid red light that traffic was flowing through. More than once he has slammed on his brakes because of a yellow light and ended up having to go into reverse and back up because he finally stopped way out in the intersection. He pulled 1.5 lateral G's on a mountain road with no rail guard and quite literally drifted into the oncoming traffic lane while trying to save himself from going off the side. On thin canyon roads he drives down the middle of the road during blind turns because he doesn't have enough vehicle control to feel comfortable driving near the edge of the road without going over. He's gotten three people to actually roll down their windows and yell at him to slow down at stop lights, I've gotten zero.

I don't ever feel comfortable when he's driving.

1998 toyota chaser, anyone?

I'd prefer the RSX behind it.

How come you picked a 370z over a boxster if you don't mind my asking?

Well, to begin with my dad's Boxster is just a Boxster, not a Boxster S. So the Z has 80 more horsepower than the Boxster, while the Boxster is only like 200 pounds lighter. The Z mops the floor with the Boxster in a drag race. But the reason I really went with the Z over the Boxster is because I've always loved Z-cars. As a little kid, my dream car was the 350z and when the 370z launched it was everything I wanted and more.

I also looked at a used Ferrari Testarossa when I was looking for a car. The car was a bit out of our price range though, we were looking from 20-30k and the Testarossa was high 30s. I feel like if I'd really pushed for it I could have gotten it, but I was too excited about getting a car so I was willing to settle for something like a used M3. My mom didn't really like the M3 though because even though it was priced really well, she felt like the interior quality wasn't up to her standards which is what pushed us up into the next price bracket that allowed me to get my Z.

Hope this isn't too personal, but where do you get the money for all these sports cars? My dad is an MRI technologist and could probably splurge on a good car once all the kids grow up, but definitely not now lol

Well, I'm the youngest kid so I'm reaping the benefits from my dad being in the late stage of his career and making more money than when either of my siblings were of age to get a car. My dad is currently working as a vice president of a fairly small biotechnology company. So we're fairly well off, but not drowning in money. About 1/3 of my car was paid for by bonds I'd received as birthday gifts for the first 16 years of my life. The rest of it went onto our house mortgage, which also houses my mother's car. It's not like we pay cash for these things.

Biotech ay

My dad and I both work in commercial construction loloolol :(

Working on fixing up a 1980 pontiac Grand Prix, probably going to drop a 400 in it to replace the 3.8 v6 in it now.  I've got big plans for that car.

How much power is the v6 making?

It'll definitely take some getting used to and some patience to put the other one in but I think I'll like these bad boys.
