The thing with racing games is that if you never got into them while younger, you probably never will be good at them regardless of realism.  I started playing Gran Turismo 1 back before I was in preschool and have played racing games nonstop my entire life.

On a side note, Gran Turismos 4-6 have a little bar at the bottom of the screen that represents the amount of Gs.  Of course in your case, it wouldn't mean anything if you can't feel it though.

idk, I just know. probably a mixture of things like the sounds and vibration and just knowing the car's limits. like, whenever I get into a car in Horizon I just drive it around the big circle of road if I'm at the festival or take it around a couple of corners if not, and I'll know what the car can and can't do :v
but it's not like, something I consciously know, really? I don't have to think about it

When you corner in a real car you can feel when the tires are at their absolute grip threshhold, it literally feels like you're about to go sliding off the road and your car starts to pull away from the apex of the turn. A slight adjustment in throttle or steering can usually correct this and keep you sticking through the corner, but in a game you have no idea how close you are to beginning to slide. Not to mention, you have no feeling of how fast you're going so you either have to take your eyes off the road to check your speed before every turn and do some on the fly numberwork to see if you're going too fast, or just hope for the best.

Not my point, I mean youre oerthinking it for playing a game. When one plays a game they shouldnt expect it to be like irl.
