Ya real bad to have a law in place that requires you to make sure your signals, brakes, suspension, etc are in working order.
In NY at least it's $21.

In CA we have mandatory smog checks every 2 years for vehicles older than 5 years old. I think there's some exemption if the vehicle is from before 1970 or something, but it's surprisingly non intrusive considering it's CA we're talking about. They just did this big overhaul though that's super weird. They got rid of the "sniffer test" (the test that actually checks emissions) and they just scan your ECU and visually inspect the car now. Makes no sense to me, but it makes running a tune more difficult because you have to be able to flash it back to stock for the smog check. It's also annoying because once I put my exhaust on I'll have to swap my test pipes back to the stock cats so it'll pass the visual test.

..where do you live that you don't have to get your car inspected?
edit: your profile says you live in alabama. you definitely have to get your car inspected in alabama lol.............
