so after about 10 months from my dad saying he'd help me get a car for my 16th bday he tells me he doesn't have the money to buy me a used car ...but then goes out and buys his girlfriend a (used) mercedes benz suv i get it's his money but i'm still super pissed because he claimed he didn't have the money (to buy a car under $5k) but then buys one well over $30k for his girlfriend |

I am so happy guys. my dad is helping me build a 1993 RX7. The shell (full interior intact and everything but a motor and transmission) is 5000. transmission is 2k, Motor is 3k, new brakes (my mom didn't want me to own a car this fast unless it had bitching brakes, so im getting Brembo GTs) 1k, in total to build around 12k-ish. A used one on craigslist (abused drift car) is 25k. I've found some RX-7s for sale near here but my dad has watched people trying to work on them back when he was a car salesman. He saw that it was usually pretty time consuming and awkward to work with. They are awesome cars though, so as long as you know what you're doing, that's cool. |
