XR-7:
Buying from old people is usually ideal too, especially for one (or just a couple) owner older cars. They aren't always going places and tend to get upkeep done on the car anytime they notice something wrong. My grandpa has a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am and it still looks like showroom quality and never has any issues. He is also the first owner because he won it in a radio contest.

When buying an old car history is also important, you have to take into consideration what is always stuff with the specific year/model combo you're buying, like with the 1996 Cutlass i have, the door handles have quite a reputation for cracking and breaking, why i was trapped outside my car just yesterday with both doors unlocked. Look also at the type of engine trans combo you're getting, because the reviews may be, in the case of a Cutlass like mine all be for 3.4 L cars, while mine is a 3.1L
If you buy an old car, also count how many of them you see still about, if you're looking to buy a 1993 Escort, beware. The fact that no one drives them anymore may be a hint at their reliability. If you only go by this scale, buy a 1995 Camry lol
Finally, never pay too much for a stuff car. If it has 178000 miles and is rustier than a chernobyl bus stop, knock the seller down a few benjamins

after thorough testing of my alfa's heater fan using a voltmeter, a test light and blowing like 1/2 a pound of rat's nest out of the heater i have confirmed it is kaput

story time, blf

>be 12
>have mother that couldn't have more than one kid (me) due to financial reasons
>always wanted a sister
>have cool rich great aunt, let's call her kelly
>coolest 80-year-old around, even owned a funeral home with an actual living quarters on the second floor
>i talked to her every day about my imaginary unnamed sister
>one day kelly asked what her name was
>after i tell her i don't know, she responds "how about bessie?"
>profile edit complete, we both love the name
>i go on and on about how cool bessie is
>stuff was tight

>fast forward to christmas day
>aunt kelly skips christmas dinner
>visits an orphanage without anyone knowing
>she finds a 10-year-old brunette girl playing with a blue truck toy
>kelly asks her what her name is
>the orphan says "i don't like my name, it reminds me of bad things"
>kelly picks her up
>"how about bessie?"

>aunt kelly calls my mom to take me to the funeral home
>we go there
>i see a strange young girl staring right at me
>"who are you?" we both say childishly
>aunt kelly lets us introduce one another
>as soon as she said her name was bessie, i started dancing around
>finally i can have the one thing i've always wanted
>i used to walk over to the funeral home everyday to play cars with her

>skip about 5 years later, the morning after christmas day
>i wake up, my belly still rumbling from all the turkey i ate
>have to go to the bathroom, but i hear a faint sound
>mom is crying
>i rush over to her and ask her what's wrong
>"aunt kelly died, car"
>forget forget forget forget
>i bust through the doors and start running to the funeral home
>other side of town
>i don't give a stuff
>get to the doorsteps
>doors locked
>forget it
>break door window and unlock
>i run up the stairs
>i see a bed with kelly in it
>bessie is looking over her, crying whilst on the phone still with my mom
>"mommy won't wake up, car"

>fast forward a year
>bessie lives with me and mom now, causing our finances to plummet
>we both began to act more depressed ever since aunt kelly's death
>i even caught bessie trying to stab herself with a kitchen knife once
>we didn't eat much either, couldn't afford it
>i had to work a cash register to keep the bills paid
>about an hour after school, bessie tells he she's hungry
>tells me she really wants to come with me to taco bell
>why not, maybe we can talk for a while

>driving down the interstate, almost at the exit
>she tells me something
>"i just can't do it, car"
>sometimes i feel the same way
>"i can't deal with the pain anymore, i'm sorry but i just have to do this"
>do what
>she unlocks the door and flings her self out
>WHAT THE forget
>i immediately pull over and try to lift her
>she's bleeding out of her goddamn eyes, skids everywhere
>can't hold back my emotions
>i can't goddamn lift her forget forget
>try to signal cars to help me
>i hear her grunt under the pain
>kneel beside her
>tears are gushing down my cheeks
>goddammit bessie why did you leave me like this
>she's trying to say something
>i kneel closer, her lips starts pouring blood as she slowly opens her mouth
>"im scared"
>she coughs blood into my face, i don't flinch
>her head tilts and she stops breathing
>all i can do is look down at her and cry

so yeah, this morning my truck finally blew out while getting breakfast

for those wondering, it started with my defrost acting up, then some rattling in my engine, then my accelerator acting up

finally it got so forgeted up that the engine blew up and now it won't even start

and yes it died on the interstate qq
