I started feel on edge on Tuesday when I noticed a cop pull into traffic just to follow me. I had dropped my brother off for his classes in the city so I was running errands in the general area. I was on Interstate 55 near South City and noticed a cop sitting on the shoulder waiting for speeding cars. I was already five miles under the speed limit (I was behind a line of cars trying to get on an exit ramp, led by a school bus). Immediately when I passed the police car, he signaled over and got into traffic directly behind me. I signaled to get off the interstate and he did the same. I got into the left turn lanes, he also did the same. I got over into the right hand left turn lane to be the first car at the stoplight and he stayed in the congested line on the left side. After I turned, I slowed down a little bit to let some cars get over, including a yellow Monte Carlo. The cop went around two cars to get behind him, and turned his lights on when he was lined up next to my driver side door. The Monte Carlo and the police car left the road and stopped. About 20 minutes later, I was headed back down that road in the opposite direction and saw the Monte Carlo (about 200ft from where he had been stopped) go past at over the speed limit and the driver was on the phone. I also saw that the police car was still in the parking lot where they'd stopped.
Overall in that day alone, I think I saw 17 police cars in South City, three of them ended up directly behind me.
