Bear in mind that this is a buddy of mine doing the work and he cuts me a pretty sizable break; getting it done in an actual shop will probably cost two or three times that (cause my guy charges by the job not by the hour) but get done several times more quickly and be guaranteed and all that fun stuff.

It's looking like I could get just the lines done for $200 which is incredibly low compared to a lot of places. Just browsing around I was finding some shops that would charge as much as $650 (srsly tho).
Today my car was getting antsy and trying to die on the streets again. I also learned that not only does it lose stability in a parked idle, but also when idling in drive. I stopped through a Taco Bell drive thru and there were maybe 4 cars ahead of me. The woman directly in front of me was in an old Mazda Protege and kept turning her engine off whenever cars weren't moving. I was idling in drive (brakes applied of course) for the entire time. I was in that general position for 8-10 minutes. I pulled out of the restaurant and stopped to turn left at a stoplight on the road and the engine started stumbling around between 400 and 750rpm. It was trying so hard to die but the idle would briefly kick on which would rev the engine, so I depressed the accelerator while I sat at the stoplight to hold the engine at 1000rpm. The light turned green so I just released the brake and kept the gas slightly down, and it seemed that the idiot woman driving the Lincoln Navigator in front of me was fully aware of my problem just because she was driving so horrendously slow. I was riding just 12-18 inches off of her bumper trying not to let off the gas while she just crawled at slug pace around the corner. As soon as I got straightened out on a highway ramp, I pushed the gas hard and zipped around her. She got pissed and started going 70 compared to my 65 and began coming up along my right side even though the ramp narrowed down to a single lane before merging onto the highway. I briefly gave more gas to quickly escape her reach and she slowed to under the speed limit as soon as she got on the highway.
I also saw another C7 Corvette and another Viper today.

seriously XR, you can get a car that will be MUCH more reliable for a lot less than youll pay to get that one to a stable state just use whatever money you can get for it probs 1000$ you said your parents don't want to get rid of it so you can pass it on or something, but you can pass on a different car too, if its causing you such inconvienience that it makes you late for work/school its time to axe it
