$trinick:

Whoops. That might be my fault.

You didn't even reply back to her last text, you monster.

Cops around here are practically bloodthirsty when it comes to tickets. Most of the people I know who have gotten tickets around here were pulled over for going 64 in a 60. However, the cops don't seem to be very bright when it comes to their choice spots to clock traffic speeds. They will usually sit somewhere completely obvious so anyone who can recognize their iconic brown armored Taurus interceptors will see them from 1/2 mile away. There are so many places right around corners or in places where people are always speeding where they'd issue a lot of tickets.

There does seem to be a rise in unmarked police cars though, and they are disguised pretty well. All of them still come as a Ford Taurus, but they are painted in normal everyday car colors. I've seen two dark red/maroon cars as well as a baby blue car. The dead giveaways are the spotlight and the absence of hubcaps.

I still occasionally see a rogue unmarked Crown Victoria with the police department plates (like the one that almost hit me that one time) driving around on the back roads. I'm pretty sure there are a couple of them but I figure they'll be phased out quickly since many police departments are abandoning Crown Vics after they were discontinued.

Foxscotch:

the sheriff's department in my county has BEAUTIFUL brown and gold paint on their cars, with only blue lights (except for the required white ones)
they look amazing
but they only have crown vics, chargers, and tahoes
which all look great. but I want to see a taurus in those colors
and they don't have any yet. idk why! the chargers and tahoes are almost all brand new, so it's not like they can't afford new cars

Skig²:

I'm going to a BMW driving event in Chicago tomorrow for this. I'll get to drive at least a BMW X1 and a 228i. I know I'm doing the Teen Driving School, Street Drives, maybe Skid Pad, and maybe the Hill Descent Control. My dad is doing the Autocross. The Car Control Clinic sounds extremely cool but it's too expensive.
