So I want to get a job and buy a Mazda Miata NA to learn how to work on/mod cars and such, but I'm worried that my parents are going to think "Illegal street racing" if i bring it up with them. Advice? My mom has some experience working on cars since her grandpa and brother were/are mechanics.

explain to them that with a NA miata the only thing you could street race would be a person on a mobility scooter
