There's a car meet in my area where I met most of these people.

Left to right, front row: Nissan 370z Z34(mine), Nissan 370z Z34, Nissan 370z Nismo Z34, Mitsubishi Eclipse 3G, Nissan 300zx Z31.
Left to right, rear row: BMW M3 E46, Nissan 300zx Z32, Nissan GT-R R35.

If you can find an old Focus RS, or even just a normal Focus with a manual transmission, get it. They have one of the best chassis of any small car ever. They're also pretty efficient, and spacious.

All those cars (save the GT-R) are all roughly the same value if you include modifications to the car. Sure, a 300zx may only cost you 10k to get in good condition used, but both of the 300zxes have heavy modification done to them that probably totals around 5-10k. The white one did a complete transmission swap to manual.
