the only reason i got a credit card was so i could build up credit haha, iirc my score is 726 as of the start of 2016. but couldn't your parents help out? seems like you really should get a replacement
i've been looking for a new car extensively as well, even though i'm still waiting for steady nice weather. personally, i'm willing to drop no more than 6k cash and i'm pre-approved for a loan of 6k, although i hope to spend less than 5k. all depends on what i can find

Yeah I already have plans to open a credit card and use it mainly for gas. My parents are also unable to reliably cosign because we just got our house re-mortgaged and they already have two car payments of their own.
I do have a good savings account at my disposal though. At this point in time, I could comfortably buy a really good used car. However, my parents are seriously hindering my decisions. Even when I find a good used car, they make every excuse in the world to not get it. Several times now, I've just taken matters into my own hands and started contacting sellers. As soon as I do that, my dad hunts around online and makes a list of cars he finds (usually out of my price range) and asks me to contact those people instead. So far that has not worked yet, so everyone goes lazy again and the vicious cycle continues.

I just got my actual license after sitting on a learner's permit for a while. I found two cars I was gunna look into, and I'm sorta getting mixed results.
There are many other things I could buy, but two cars I want are the 2002 Ford Mustang, and a 2010 Dodge Challenger SE.
Tayasaurus:
do the challenger if you can afford it
