Well the road was wet so I stopped to play at the gymkhana (some people refer to it as the "high school parking lot"). After one round through the lot, there was a terrible moaning and some obvious vibrations resounding through the car anytime I turned the wheel. I drove to the gas station next door and drove around in a few circles, stopped, walked around the car while turning the wheel some more, but still couldn't find out what it was. By the time I got home, the noise was almost completely gone.
My theory now is that I just shot some water up into the front underside of the car and it was just causing some squeaking (similar to wet brakes, only with the steering/wheels).
Zloff:
check the power steering fluid level, it probably needs some. If you suspect it's leaking, dump a 12oz of Lucas oil stop leak in with more ps fluid. Sounds just like an issue I had with my old sable
